I’ve heard (just rumors from watch guys in my watch group) a 5% price increase on popular models (SMP, Speedy, etc.) and that dealer discounts for those models will be reduced/eliminated. By not having discounts and better price transparency, it's good for both the Omega brand and the AD. At the very least it keeps people from shopping across 2 or 3 different AD and make their sole decision based on discounts, driving the price down.

Back in the late-70's and early-80's prices were raised two or three times a year by substantial amounts due to raging inflation. But now, after an increase of 0 USD, the watch has surpassed ,000 USD – moving up from ,900 USD to ,100 USD. This also can cause a slight trickle-down effect in the secondary market, with pre-owned pricing upped to match the raised value at retail. As the chart indicates, opting for a steel 3861 Speedmaster comes with ~12.5% increase in price for the sapphire and a ~17.8% increase for the Hesalite example.
