TLDR: Decide whether you want to err on the side of a tad too small but increased comfort/wearability, or a tad too big but better look/wrist presence.
The explorer has a very aggressive bracelet taper that makes it feel and wear smaller than it is. It does indeed look small on you. The sub looks great, also consider the 40m Explorer as well . I think both sizes could work for you. I understand why some may say it looks small on your wrist (because you could easily go with the larger size) but I don't think the 36mm .
