I bought the reversible leather LV belt (black/brown) and I love it! I'm pretty casual and wear lots of jeans so this was perfect- although pricey. It can dress up a simple jeans and T-shirt outfit in a snap and the fact that it's reversible leather means it pretty much can be worn with almost any color. Genuine Louis Vuitton leather can appear imperfect, and while a faux item will turn yellow or pink over time, a true Louis Vuitton will only look natural. Accumulating marks, scuffs, and tiny scratches are common for authentic tanned leather, referred to as “Vachetta,” which takes on a darker color with use. The quality of leather at LV is definitely better than what they offer for canvas. I’ve enjoyed my leather pieces and find that they hold up quite nicely, especially for the Capucines and newer Coussin pieces.
If you really want an LV, get the LV. To me, the coated canvas is worth it because I personally feel like it stands wear and tear much better than leather does. My LVs all look brand new after years. This Classic Louis Vuitton print leather fabric very rigid and in stock for sale by the yard or rolls! Great for crafting. Thick and durable.
